KAVU Busy Livin'

Unbelievable KAVU week for the books:)

I love my job, not only do I get constant inspiring updates from some of the world's most amazing characters, but I'm just constantly amongst it!  This last week topped the cake.  We got to do an extremely special shoot as part of the KAVU Elements tour!

It was loaded with breathtaking and inspiring views in Marble Canyon, Arizona right near the put-in for the Grand Canyon.

I logged over 8 hours hanging out of an ultra-light (motorcycle of the sky) filming the Jeffs in their Element!

The boys got to fly in some of the most scenic areas that exist in the world!

We spent over a 5 days flying around and collecting some amazing footage for the new Elements tour film!

Meanwhile, Becky Bristow checked in from her home town of Revelstoke, BC.  She has been Busy Livin' the KAVU dream as the elements fade to winter.  She recently got to sneak in some flying outside of town with some amazing views with snow above the tree line.

The next day the November rains kicked in which melted the snow and brought the rivers up!!!

Imagine her surprise when she got to hit up her local creek "the Jordan" in November, which is virtually unheard of.

Another KAVU gold card holder, Alison Teal just checked in on her way from Surfing in Fiji to Surfing in Morocco.  Some times I get emails from this girl and I can only think to myself....ARE YOU SERIOUS??

Apparently she has been chillin on this little bugs bunny island off the coast of Figi.

She has been living in a tree house.

Cross Training

As the first snow flies Baby gets to see her first snow fall ever.

Caroline Gleich, our pro big mountain skier has been waiting for the snow all summer!

She has been doing all kinds of things to stay busy cross training like hoola hooping in the desert.  Here is a girl who knows what KAVU is all about.

Meanwhile, World Champion Kayaker Ruth Gordon took a little beat down Mountain Biking last week!

"I’ve always ridden a bike. I guess it’s just something you learn when you’re a kid. But it was only this year that I started mountain biking"  says Ruth.  Ruth lives in Reno, and joined a big contingent of Mtn Bikers on a trip to Moab last weekend.

She got a little caught up in the Southern Utah Scenery!

"Poison Spider was fun, but the way down Portal (a class five plus) was more of a hike than a bike. I was having an off day and besides landing in a pile of cacti, I almost fell off a 1000ft cliff. Being from the north I had NO idea just how painful a butt full of cacti could be – let’s just say I don’t recommend it."

Our Chilean kayaker Rodrigo Tuschner chalked up a massive first descent of a mackin big drop nearby his home town of Pucon, Chile last week.

Finally Jeff Obrien just returned from a ridge race on the coast of Ecuador a couple days ago.  "If you fly year round then why the hell do you need to cross train??"

Nobody feels sorry for the Jeffs.  They just keep bringing it home.  Obrien finished just shy of 3rd place.

Whether you are doing your own sport, trying a new one, sleeping in the dirt or hoola hooping in the jungle....just make sure it's a KAVU Day.  We are delighted to have such an amazing crew of characters out there busy livin' the dream.  See ya next week!
